Trip to the Zoo

I had to run an errand near the zoo today, so we decided to stop by and walk around a bit. We LOVE going to the zoo when it is cold. No one is there, the animals are really active, no lines, no crowds...etc.

This elephant came right up to us. The boys loved watching her work her snout to pick up leaves and sticks.

Usually the carousel is not running on cold days (they tell me it has to be 55 degrees or warmer) but we lucked out. Tyson insisted on riding on the wild dog.

Maddox wanted the Zebra.

Neither did Tyson.

This was definitely the highlight of the day. They are Red Pandas which are new to the zoo. There is a mommy and her two cubs and let me just tell you they are worth admission.  You would miss them if you didn't know they were there too. Their area is in a really weird place (over by the camels). 

They were TOO CUTE.
